Borne out of the self-induced pressure to write an entire album in the month of February (see www.fawm.org for more details), ellen cherry realized the idea of writing about woman set in certain periods of time. From that notion, and with help from Andrew Grimm on lead guitar, Years was born.

From a civil war era bride to a commentary on modern media's influence on women, Years introduces a concept album that spans time, space, and ideology through history.

Emmy nominated singer/songwriter ellen cherry is a full-time touring and working performer based in Baltimore, MD. She has ... more licensed her music to the Oxygen Network, MTV, and Soap.net. In 2009, she wrote, recorded and performed a TV campaign for FOX Networks and also composed the score for a shadow puppet piece entitled "Alonzo's Lullaby", which was awarded the UNIMA Citation of Excellence. less
