I lost a dear friend in April 2018. It was sudden and I still have not fully accepted his absence. This summer, I read about the drought being so bad in Texas that the Rio Grande had become completely dry, in some places. This seemed so improbable--just like the reality of his death. This is a demo song, written for February Album Writing Month (FAWM), as a contemplation of this common situation....and grieving.
